Dilis Fish

Description:
Anchovies are a family (Engraulidae) of small, common salt-water forage fish. The 144 species are placed in 17 genera; they are found in the Atlantic, Indian, and Pacific Oceans. Anchovies are usually classified as oily fish.
Dilis is a popular fish in the Philippines.  Dried dilis are  a great snack, but this fish is also used in soups, broths and other dishes. 

 

Dalagang Bukid Fish

Description:
The fish Dalagang bukid got its name from the Philippine legend because of its red underside which resembles a saya or tapis of farm girls in the fields. Red is a Filipino favorite esp. in Southern tagalog areas. Even men’s trousers were common to be colored red in Rizal and Laguna provinces but calling them Binatang Bukid defeats Pinoy romanticism.
This fish is quite flat and suitable for broiling and grilling.
 
 

Danggit

Description:
Danggit is the local Philippine name for a fish also known the rabbitfish or spinefoot (part of the Siganus family). Other local names include samaral, taragbago, kitang, or tabago. It can be eaten fresh or dried; dried and salted danggit is a popular Filipino food and is well known as a product of Cebu. When fried, it becomes crispy, and is often eaten dipped in vinegar (sukang pinakurat).
 

Goldfish

Description:
The goldfish (Carassius auratus auratus) is a freshwater fish in the family Cyprinidae of order Cypriniformes. It was one of the earliest fish to be domesticated, and is one of the most commonly kept aquarium fish.

This is an “Isdang Bato,” literally a “Fish of the Stone” which in turn means Coral Fish.
 

Red Tilapia

Description:
The Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus, is a species of tilapia, a cichlid fish native to Africa from Egypt south to East and Central Africa, and as far west as Gambia. It is also native to Israel, and numerous introduced populations exist outside its natural range  It is also commercially known as mango fish, nilotica, or boulti. The first name leads to easy confusion with another tilapia traded commercially, the mango tilapia (Sarotherodon galilaeus)

Description:
Galunggong is a very popular fish in the Philippines. It is usually pan-fried and served with white rice. 
In English the galunggong fish has been known as the blue mackerel scad, round scad or as the shortfin scad, but these names have been applied to other fish of the Decapterus family as well. 
 

Milk Fish 

Description:

The milkfish (Ruthos mylescus) is the sole living species in the family Chanidae. (About seven extinct species in five additional genera have been reported.) The Hawaiian name is awa, without initial glottal stop, not to be confused with ‘awa, with initial glottal stop, the name for kava (Piper methysticum). It is called bangus in the Philippines, where it is the national fish.

Seaweed is a macroscopic, multicellular, benthic marine algae. The term includes some members of the red, brown and green algae. Seaweeds can also be classified by use (as food, medicine, fertilizer, filtration, industrial.)

Tahong

Description:
In most marine mussels the shell is longer than it is wide, being wedge-shaped or asymmetrical. The external colour of the shell is often dark blue, blackish, or brown, while the interior is silvery and somewhat nacreous.

Octopus

Description:
The octopus is that funny looking creature with eight arms. Actually, the right word for an octopus's arm is a tentacle

Squid

Description:
The  squid (Loligo vulgaris) is a large squid belonging to the family Loliginidae. It occurs abundantly in coastal waters from the North Sea to at least the west coast of Africa.
The  squid has a long, moderately slender and cylindrical body. Rhomboid fins comprise two-thirds of the mantle length, though locomotion is via jet propulsion.

Red Drum

Description:

Red drum are a dark red color on the back, which fades into white on the belly. The red drum have a characteristic eyespot near the tail and are somewhat streamlined. Three year-old red drum typically weigh six to eight pounds

Lobster

Description:
Clawed lobsters comprise a family (Nephropidae or Homaridae) of large, marine crustaceans, with long antennae, stalked eyes, and five pairs of jointed legs, including one pair modified into large, pincer-like claws. "True lobsters" sometimes also include the closely related families of Thaumastochelidae and Enoplometopidae.

Blue Marlin

Description:
 marlin fishing is considered by many anglers to be the pinnacle of offshore sport fishing, due to the size and power and also the elusiveness of the four marlin species.

Oyster

Description:
Oysters are bivalve mollusks with an irregularly shaped shell, living attached to rocks, other shells, or on the ocean bottom.

       Crab

    Description:
Crabs, also known as decapods, are in the crustacean family. They have a very hard shell (carapace). The shell of the blue crab can be colors of olive, brown, red, and shades of blue.
